How Ticket Pricing Works Here
Resale pricing confuses people because most marketplaces explain it badly or not at all. Here is every component of what you pay, what sets it, and how to compare two listings fairly.
Cali Tickets is an independent resale marketplace. We are not a venue, not a primary seller, and not affiliated with any venue, team, performer or promoter named on this site. Prices are set by sellers and may be above or below face value. Venue and event names are used for descriptive purposes only.
What makes up the price

Why a ticket can cost more — or less — than face value
Face value is the price a primary seller set months ago, usually before anyone knew whether the event would sell. Resale price is what the market says the seat is worth today. Those two numbers have no obligation to match.
A midweek fixture against a low-drawing opponent frequently trades below face value, because sellers would rather recover something than nothing. A sold-out tour date trades above it. Neither is a trick; both are the same mechanism running in different directions.
No hidden fees
The total you pay is disclosed before you enter payment details, not revealed on the final screen. If you have ever watched a $90 ticket become $137 at the last step, you know why this matters. Compare marketplaces on the total, and compare at the same point in the flow.
How to compare two listings properly
- Compare totals, not headline prices. A cheaper headline with a heavier fee load is not cheaper.
- Read the section guidance before you assume cheaper is worse. On our venue pages we say which tier is the value band. Sometimes the cheap seat is genuinely the better seat.
- Check the listing note. Limited-view and obstructed-view designations are set per listing, not per section, and they are the single most common source of regret.
- Check the delivery method if you are buying close to the event.
